6th Grade - Business Keyboarding

The purpose of this course is to cover basic keyboarding and computer education. Some of the topics covered are:

• Keyboarding skills
• Internet Literacy and Safety
• Money management
• Word Processing using Google Docs
• Electronic Presentations using Google Slides
• Introductory Spreadsheet Skills using Google Sheets

7th Grade - Coding Fundamentals

The purpose of this course is to assist technology students in making informed decisions regarding their future academic and occupational goals.

Coding is the process of using a programming language to get a computer to behave how you want it to. Students will use Codesters to learn the Python coding language.

After successfully completing this course, the student will be able to perform the following:

• Demonstrate proficiency using specialized computer coding software.
• Develop an awareness of programming languages.
• Demonstrate proficiency using common software applications.
• Certification in Coding

8th Grade - Robotics

The Introduction to Programming EV3 Curriculum is a curriculum module designed to teach core computer programming logic and reasoning skills using a robotics engineering context.

LEGO MINDSTORMS Education EV3 is a hands-on, cross-curricular STEM solution that engages students by providing the resources to design, build and program their creations while helping them develop essential skills such as creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication.

8th Grade - Business Software

The purpose of this course is to provide hands on computer based instruction in intermediate:

• Word processing using Microsoft Word
• Electronic presentation using Microsoft PowerPoint
• Spreadsheet using Microsoft Excel

Students have the opportunity to take Microsoft Office Certification exams upon completion.
