
Reading Madness Spirit Week Guidelines
Students who do not follow these specific guidelines for the spirit week will be required to change and will have their TOMS Card signed.
Monday, 3/2
Hat Day

- Hats that promote the use of alcohol, drugs, tobacco, or any other illegal activity are prohibited.

Hats that may be gang-related are prohibited.

Hats should not cover a student’s face and interfere with their ability to see.
- Other than hats, students must follow all other TOMS uniform requirements.
- If a teacher thinks a student’s hat is disturbing the learning environment, the teacher may ask for the student to remove it.

Tuesday, 3/3
Favorite Book
Character Day
|
- No oversized or tight fitting clothing
- Costumes and accessories that promote the use of alcohol, drugs, tobacco, or any other illegal activity are prohibited.
- Students out of uniform must be dressed as a specific book character.
- No hoodies!
- If a teacher thinks a student’s costume accessories are disturbing the learning environment, the teacher may ask for the student to put it away.

Wednesday, 3/4
Crazy Socks Day
|
- Socks that promote the use of alcohol, drugs, tobacco, or any other illegal activity are prohibited.
- Socks that may be gang-related are prohibited.
- Other than socks, students must follow all other TOMS uniform requirements.

Thursday, 3/5
College Day
|
- Students may wear any college shirt or jersey.
- Students must wear uniform pants, shorts, or capris.

No jeans!
- No hoodies!

Friday, 3/6
TOMS Spirit Day
(Blues for Books)
|
- Students may wear headbands and ribbons, but they must be a solid color blue.

Students can wear any TOMS shirt or a shirt that is primarily blue.

No hoodies!

Shirts that promote the use of alcohol, drugs, tobacco, or any other illegal activity are prohibited.
- Students are permitted to wear jeans, but the jeans must be dark blue. White, whitewashed, black, ripped, or printed jeans are prohibited.

Tutus are not allowed.

If a teacher thinks a student’s spirit apparel is disturbing the learning environment, the teacher may ask for the student to remove it.
