What's Happening

Dear Parents,
I hope you are enjoying your summer and taking the opportunity to spend quality time with family and friends. The administration and staff are diligently preparing for the 2018-2019 school year. A Parentlink message will be sent when your child’s FSA scores become available. Our Back to School Open House will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 between 5:30 and 7:00 pm Sixth grade students need to arrive at 5:30 pm and seventh and eighth grade students at 6:00pm. Students will have the opportunity to pick up their schedules and supply lists, meet their teachers, and purchase P.E. uniforms. Bus schedules will also be available. The school hours are Monday through Friday, 9:35am until 4:00pm. Students should be dropped off at parent pick up no earlier than 9:15am. Three Oaks Middle will again offer a fee based before school program. This program is available from 7:00am to 9:15am each student school day beginning August 10. Please refer to the Early Heron flyer included in this newsletter for further information. Research indicates, students need to attend school daily to succeed. Achievement, especially in math, is very sensitive to attendance, and the absence of even two weeks during one school year can make a significant difference in a student’s success. We request that outside appointments be set before or after school hours. If a parent/guardian must sign a student out early from school, they must come to the administration office with a photo ID. The student will not be called from class until a parent is present. Please understand that when a student is signed out early, they are considered “Period Unexcused” until a doctor’s note is brought in to the office. Consistently signing students out early may result in a social worker referral. We appreciate your support of this very important issue. Please feel free to contact the school at any time for any concerns regarding your child’s education at 267-5757. Enjoy the remainder of the summer. I look forward to a very successful school year!
